The Group presently possesses three mineral deposits vary in classification throughout Central Asia, from precious metals to non-ferrous metals and other materials. In addition to these mining operations, Matrass is continually seeking out new mineral reserves in the Central Asian region and throughout the world.
Kyrgyzstan is home to three of these mines. Matrass has mining operations at three locations in the province of Batken, located in the Southwest of the country. Two of the mines are focused on gold production, while the third mine is a substantial Aluminum deposit, containing the rock Nepheline Syenite.
The two gold mines, Chakush and Sugut, are located on mountainous terrain, which is mostly barren. The mining areas are located in the southern foothills of the West Tian Shan(sometimes spelled Tien Shan) mountain range. Sugut has the higher elevation, ranging between 2,800-3,300 meters above sea level. Chakush is at a lower elevation, ranging between 1,350-2,850 meters.
The third mine, Zardarek (ZDK), is a green mineral project without wastewater or wasted material byproducts. The mine can produce alumina, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, wollastonite, and materials for cement clinker. It is rich with Nepheline Syenite, a rock that breaks down into several of the aforementioned materials. ZDK is also located in a mountainous area in Southeastern Kyrgyzstan, with elevation ranging from 1,900 meters to 3,100 meters.
